{"id":23173,"date":"2025-08-11T10:11:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T14:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/mystery-road-origin-sets-season-two-premiere\/"},"modified":"2025-08-11T10:44:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T14:44:56","slug":"mystery-road-origin-sets-season-two-premiere-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/mystery-road-origin-sets-season-two-premiere-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Mystery Road: Origin Sets Season Two Premiere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Season two of <em>Mystery Road: Origin<\/em> is set to premiere on September 21 on ABC TV with all episodes available to stream on ABC iview.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mystery Road: Origin<\/em> season two is written by an entirely First Nations writing team, alongside Jub Clerc (<em>Sweet As<\/em>) and Wayne Blair (<em>Mystery Road <\/em>season one), who are also directing.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Coles Smith and Tuuli Narkle will be joined by an ensemble cast including Robyn Malcolm (<em>After The Party<\/em>), Clarence Ryan (<em>Territory<\/em>), Geoff Morrell (<em>Lord Of The Rings: Rings of Power<\/em>), Nicholas Bell (<em>Elvis<\/em>), Luke Carroll (<em>Scrublands S2<\/em>) and many more.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s Easter 2000, six months from when we last saw young Detective Jay Swan, played by Smith (<em>We Bury The Dead<\/em>), and his partner Mary, played by Narkle (<em>NCIS: Sydney<\/em>). As Jay begins to investigate an unfolding case, the town of Loch Iris closes ranks around him. The more he pieces together the crime, the more he realizes the entire town has been hiding a shadowy past. It&#8217;s a past that is still rippling through to the present and with it, a secret that threatens to tear Jay and Mary apart.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mystery Road: Origin<\/em> is Bunya Productions production for the ABC. The series is produced by Greer Simpkin and David Jowsey.
