Taj Atwal (<em>Riot Women<\/em>) steps in as Freya, Rhiannon\u2019s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, while Jenny Walser (<em>Heartstopper<\/em>) plays an adoring new friend, Daisy.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to the series are Jon Pointing (<em>Big Boys<\/em>), Jeremy Swift (<em>Ted Lasso<\/em>), Leah Harvey (<em>Foundation<\/em>), Ingrid Oliver (<em>Thursday Murder Club<\/em>), Nitin Ganatra (<em>Mr Bigstuff<\/em>,) and Alexandra Dowling (<em>Emily<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that Sweetpea and the world of Carnsham are back in full swing for season two, with new and exciting characters for what promises to be an intoxicating ride for Rhiannon as she continues on her murderous journey,\u201d said executive producers Purnell, Ella Jones and Patrick Walters. \u201cThis season, the stakes are even higher, and as the consequences of her actions begin to close in, questions of morality and justice will come into play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Episodes one, five and six will be directed by Jones (<em>Sweetpea S1<\/em>). Episodes two, three and four will be directed by Coky Giedroyc (<em>How to Build a Girl)<\/em>. The series is written by Selina Lim, Emme Hoy, Anna Jordan and Laura Jayne Tunbridge.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted to return with some fan favorites and to introduce a brilliant new cast of such high caliber,\u201d said Meghan Lyvers, executive director of original scripted for Sky (U.K. and Ireland). \u201c<em>Sweetpea<\/em>&#8216;s second season will be packed with wickedly funny moments, dynamic storytelling, and as ever, twisted morality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The series is adapted from C.J. Skuse\u2019s novel of the same name and produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. The commissioning editor for Sky is Manpreet Dosanjh. Executive producer for fanboy is Walters (<em>Heartstopper<\/em>), and executive producers for See-Saw Films are Helen Gregory, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman. Jones and Purnell serve as executive producers, alongside Kirstie Swain.
