{"id":23096,"date":"2025-07-29T10:25:54","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T14:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/zdf-studios-sells-weiss-morales-to-italian-broadcaster-rai\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T11:29:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T15:29:26","slug":"zdf-studios-sells-weiss-morales-to-italian-broadcaster-rai-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/zdf-studios-sells-weiss-morales-to-italian-broadcaster-rai-2\/","title":{"rendered":"ZDF Studios Sells Weiss &#038; Morales to Rai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ZDF Studios has sold the Spanish-German co-production <em>Weiss &amp; Morales<\/em> to Italian broadcaster Rai.<\/p>\n<p><em>Weiss &amp; Morales<\/em> revolves around the story of Spanish Civil Guard sergeant Ra\u00fal Morales (Miguel \u00c1ngel Silvestre) and German BKA agent Nina Weiss (Katia Fellin), when a crime is committed in the Canary Islands affecting the German community, the two are compelled to work together.<\/p>\n<p>Guided by the direction of Oriol Ferrer and executive producers Alfonso Blanco from Portocabo (<em>Rapa, Hierro<\/em>) and Peter Nadermann from Nadcon (<em>The Bridge, The Killing<\/em>), <em>Weiss &amp; Morales <\/em>boasts a blended Spanish and German writing team spearheaded by Nina Hern\u00e1ndez, Carlota Dans, and Ron Markus. The series is co-produced by RTVE, ZDF, Portocabo, Nadcon and ZDF Studios, for their Free-TV channel Rai 2.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe show sets a new gold standard for European co-productions, and we are delighted that Rai&#8217;s viewers will soon be able to enjoy it,&#8221; said Yuliya Fischer, director of drama at ZDF Studios. &#8220;Rather than being a financial patchwork, the partnership between Spain\u2019s RTVE and Germany\u2019s ZDF on this series feels organic and integral to the story&#8217;s DNA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adriano De Maio, director of cinema and TV series at Rai, said: \u201dWith its fresh tone, rich characters and stunning setting, <em>Weiss &amp; Morales<\/em> looks set to become a sunlit standout in the world of European crime dramas and we are delighted to be able to show it to our audience.
