BINGE has commissioned a scripted series based on the infamous Australian bank robber Brenden Abbott, aka The Postcard Bandit.<\/p>\n
In the 1980s, Abbott committed a string of bank robberies and evaded police before eventually being arrested, convicted and escaping custody twice. He is now the longest serving prisoner in Australia. George Mason (The Power of the Dog<\/em>, The Survivors<\/em>) will star as Abbott in the series.<\/p>\n The six-part crime drama will follow as Abbott eludes police and escapes maximum security prison. Alongside Mason, stars include Robyn Malcolm (After The Party<\/em>, The Survivors<\/em>), Ashleigh Cummings (Citadel<\/em>, Long Bright River<\/em>, Hounds of Love<\/em>) and Keiynan Lonsdale (Swift Street<\/em>, The Flash<\/em>).<\/p>\n The ensemble cast includes David Howell (Narrow Road to the Deep North<\/em>, Strife<\/em>), Mia Artemis (Sweet Tooth<\/em>, The Secrets She Keeps<\/em>), Christian Byers (Bump<\/em>, The Narrow Road to the Deep North<\/em>), Roxie Mohebbi (He Had It Coming<\/em>, Critical Incident<\/em>), Oscar Redding (Top of the Lake<\/em>, The Twelve<\/em>), Anthony Hayes (Mystery Road<\/em>, Gold<\/em>, The Twelve<\/em>), and Jayden Popik (Mystery Road<\/em>, A Perfect Pairing<\/em>).<\/p>\n The series is now filming in Western Australia. It is being produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Australia, with major production investment from Screenwest and the Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive. It is also being produced in association with ITV Studios, which is also distributing the series.<\/p>\n Ben Young (Hounds of Love<\/em>, The Twelve<\/em>) and Bonnie Moir (Exposure<\/em>, Love Me<\/em>) are directing, with Young also serving as executive producer.
