Based on the novels by best-selling author Marian Keyes, season one revolves around the characters from <em>Rachel\u2019s Holiday <\/em>and <em>Anybody Out There<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The cast includes Louisa Harland, Caroline Menton, Danielle Galligan, M\u00e1ir\u00e9ad Tyers and Stefanie Preissner, with Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley as the Walsh parents.<\/p>\n<p>Greg Johnson, executive VP for the Americas and Asia Pacific at Cineflix Rights, noted: \u201cWe are thrilled to be partnering with Stan to bring<em> The Walsh Sisters<\/em> to Australian fans. Marian\u2019s novels have millions of readers all over the world and we\u2019re looking forward to more deals shortly as we roll the series out internationally to buyers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stan&#8217;s chief content officer, Cailah Scobie, added, \u201cMarian Keyes\u2019 books are adored all over the world, and we\u2019re delighted to partner with RT\u00c9, BBC and Cineflix Rights as we bring <em>The Walsh Sisters<\/em> to Australian audiences. It\u2019s impossible to overstate how thrilled I am with this production. Stefanie Preissners&#8217; scripts alchemised the vibe of my novels into a new and compelling thing. And the cast! Individually and collectively the five young women playing the sisters astonished me. Each separately embodies the characters in my head, right down to tiny aspects of their body language; collectively their chemistry is magnificent\u2014their warm, bickery engagement feels just like a family. The rest of the cast is equally tremendous\u2014Mammy and Daddy Walsh are beautiful together. This probably sounds like a strange thing to say but even if I wasn&#8217;t involved in this, I&#8217;d be dying to see it. I&#8217;m so grateful to all the individuals who worked so hard to make this beautiful series and I&#8217;m very excited for Australian viewers to see the finished product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Walsh Sisters<\/em> is adapted by Stefanie Preissner with Kefi Chadwick writing two episodes. It is directed by Ian Fitzgibbon and produced by Cuba Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures for RT\u00c9 in association with the BBC, Screen Ireland and Cineflix Rights.
