As they learn about her life, they begin to uncover dark secrets throughout the close-knit community.<\/p>\n<p>Joining the cast alongside Jensen and O\u2019Connell are Clive Russell (<em>The Witcher<\/em>, <em>Sandman<\/em>), Ellie Haddington (<em>Motherland<\/em>, <em>Guilt<\/em>), Niall MacGregor (<em>The Bombing of Pan AM 103<\/em>, <em>Line of Duty<\/em>), Greg McHugh (<em>Guilt<\/em>, <em>The A Word<\/em>), Frances Gray (<em>Tom Jones<\/em>, <em>Vera<\/em>), Louise Brealey (<em>Such Brave Girls<\/em>, <em>Clique<\/em>), Stuart Townsend (<em>Into The Deep<\/em>, <em>Two Minutes to Midnight<\/em>), Stephen McMillan (<em>Toxic Town<\/em>, <em>Boiling Point<\/em>), Saskia Ashdown (<em>Karen Pirie<\/em>, <em>The Rig<\/em>), Lila Rose (<em>Traces<\/em>), Joanne Thomson (<em>Outlander<\/em>, <em>The Victim<\/em>), Gabriel Akuwudike (<em>Screw<\/em>, <em>The Beautiful Game<\/em>), Leigh Biagi (<em>The Prodigal Father<\/em>, <em>The Lost King<\/em>) and Samuel Anderson (<em>Amandaland<\/em>, <em>Back to Black<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Steven Robertson, Lewis Howden, Anne Kidd, Angus Miller, Conor McCarry and Eubha Akilade reprise their roles in the series.<\/p>\n<p><em>Shetland<\/em> is based on the novels by crime writer Ann Cleeves. Paul Logue is the lead writer for the new season of Shetland, alongside Denise Paul and Phil Mulryne. The series comes from Silverprint Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and is produced by Louise V Say and directed by Ruth Paxton and Ruth Carney. Executive producers are Gaynor Holmes for the BBC and Kate Bartlett, Logue and Paul for Silverprint Pictures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow in its tenth series, <em>Shetland<\/em> continues to go from strength to strength and is loved by audiences across the U.K. and internationally,\u201d said Holmes, commissioning editor for the BBC. \u201cWe\u2019re very excited to see the fantastic creative team at Silverprint and their superbly talented cast and crew heading back into production with a compellingly new, gnarly and emotional murder-mystery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bartlett, executive producer for Silverprint Pictures, commented, \u201cWe&#8217;re so excited about this new series of <em>Shetland<\/em> with Ashley and Alison, alongside our wonderful returning cast and a fantastic guest cast.
