When Jess\u2019s dad and Ollie\u2019s mom meet, the two families\u2019 lives are potentially turned upside down forever as the two parents embark on a passionate and intense love affair.<\/p>\n<p>The series raises questions about class, grief and the effects of social media.<\/p>\n<p>Filming is set to begin in Manchester this year, with details about casting and production personnel to come.<\/p>\n<p><em>Adultery<\/em> will air on ITV1 and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player. ITV Studios will handle international distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a drama about passion, and I\u2019ve passionately wanted to write it for some time,\u201d Brocklehurst said. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be partnering with ITV and Poison Pen to bring audiences a show about how love and sex have the capacity to lift us to the highest highs and the lowest lows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDanny\u2019s brilliant scripts will have an audience hooked into this adulterous story from the start,\u201d noted Polly Hill, director of drama at ITV. \u201cAt its heart, though, it\u2019s about love, and I\u2019m excited to have an addictive love story on ITV and to be working with Danny and Ben and the team at Poison Pen Studios.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ben Stephenson, founder of Poison Pen Studios, added, \u201cI am so happy to be able announce this as our first commission for Poison Pen.
