{"id":22177,"date":"2025-02-12T10:26:51","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T15:26:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/dr-greenlights-crime-drama-the-uniform\/"},"modified":"2025-02-12T11:20:19","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T16:20:19","slug":"dr-greenlights-crime-drama-the-uniform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/dr-greenlights-crime-drama-the-uniform\/","title":{"rendered":"DR Greenlights Crime Drama The Uniform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Denmark\u2019s DR has ordered the six-part crime drama <em>The Uniform<\/em> from Miso Film (<em>The Investigation<\/em>, <em>Faithless<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Starring Lena Maria Christensen (<em>Face to Face<\/em>, <em>The Dreamer<\/em>) and Jakob Cedergren (<em>Bullshit<\/em>, <em>The Guilty<\/em>), among others, the story begins when a trainee from the Police Academy shoots and kills an aggressive young man during a violent arrest. The incident raises questions about the use of force and methods of police training, and pressure grows on the academy\u2019s new principal while internal affairs investigates the case.<\/p>\n<p>The cast also includes Marco Ils\u00f8 (<em>Bullshit<\/em>, <em>Vikings<\/em>), Clara Rosager (<em>1899<\/em>, <em>The Kiss<\/em>), Gustav Giese (<em>The Quiet Ones<\/em>, <em>Prison<\/em>), Soheil Bavi (<em>Darkland: The Return<\/em>), Simon Sears (<em>Those Who Kill<\/em>,<em> Baby Feber<\/em>) and Sarah Boberg (<em>1864<\/em>, <em>The Bridge<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Principal photography is set to begin in March, with Janus Metz (<em>Armadillo<\/em>, <em>True Detective<\/em>) directing all six episodes of the series based on scripts written by Oscar Giese (<em>2 Days<\/em>) and Anders August (<em>Follow the Money<\/em>, <em>Legacy<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>The Uniform<\/em> has already been sold to public broadcasters SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, Yle in Finland and R\u00daV in Iceland. Fremantle is handling international sales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Miso Film presented an idea for a drama that takes place at the Police Academy, we immediately saw an exciting arena for a prime-time series,\u201d said Henriette Marienlund, head of drama at DR. \u201cThe Police Academy offers completely unique circumstances, where the police differ from all other education programs in the country, because at the utmost, trainees must be trained to put their bodies and minds in the line of fire to enforce the rules of the law. It is an exciting dilemma that we believe a broad audience will be interested in following.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The Uniform<\/em> works with many of the same themes that I dealt with in <em>Armadillo<\/em>, and I am looking forward to bringing a series about the formation of the Danish police to life,\u201d Metz commented. \u201cWhat is special about the series is that it takes place in a school. This way, we meet our characters during training. It is police work set in a coming-of-age setting that I have not seen treated before on Danish soil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peter Bose, co-CEO of Miso Film and producer of the series, added, \u201cWe are thrilled to produce <em>The Uniform<\/em> for DR, which has a strong tradition of creating some of Denmark\u2019s best prime-time dramas. Anders August and Oscar Giese have written an engaging and relevant story, which will be wonderfully articulated under the direction of Janus Metz with his unique style and creative vision.
