Twenty-seven years later, Joni receives a call from another childhood friend, informing her that another Darling girl has disappeared during a s\u00e9ance.<\/p>\n<p>Morgana O\u2019Reilly (<em>The White Lotus<\/em> season three, <em>Friends Like Her<\/em>) stars in the lead role as Joni and is joined by an ensemble cast featuring Dame Harriet Walter (<em>Succession<\/em>, <em>Ted Lasso<\/em>), Rudi Dharmalingam (<em>Wakefield<\/em>,<em> The Lazarus Project<\/em>), Celia Pacquola (<em>Rosehaven<\/em>, <em>Love Me<\/em>), Annie Maynard (<em>Upper Middle Bogan<\/em>,<em> Colin From Accounts<\/em>), Dan Spielman (<em>The Code<\/em>, <em>New Gold Mountain<\/em>), Anne Tenney (<em>The Castle<\/em>, <em>A Country Practice<\/em>) and Chloe Brink (<em>Thou Shalt Not Steal<\/em>, <em>Raising Thunder<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Playing Gracie Darling<\/em> is created and written by Miranda Nation (<em>Undertow<\/em>) and directed by Jonathan Brough (<em>Rosehaven<\/em>, <em>The End<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The drama received major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Paramount Australia. It is financed with support from Screen NSW\u2019s Made in NSW Fund. Sony Pictures Television is handling international sales, while Paramount Australia is in charge of local distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Playing Gracie Darling<\/em> is an ode to the power of friendship and society\u2019s fear of the unknown,\u201d creator and writer Nation explained.<\/p>\n<p>Lead actor O\u2019Reilly commented, \u201cThis is a cast of incredible actors. I\u2019ve found myself in the middle of a scene hoping I\u2019m living up to what they\u2019re putting down. This show is gritty, real and perfectly spooky. I can\u2019t wait to see it all come together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Playing Gracie Darling<\/em> is a brilliantly constructed \u2018keeps-you-guessing\u2019 script, and the part of Pattie is quite unlike anything I have played before,\u201d Walter added. \u201cShe is well-meaning, if a bit misguided, dabbling in the mystic world, which sometimes causes her to miss what\u2019s under her nose. But I also like that she pursues her own earthly pleasures.
