yes Studios’ psychological drama Night Therapy<\/em> is getting a German-language version via SquareOne Productions.<\/p>\n

Vuelta Group Germany’s SquareOne is now developing the German-language version of Night Therapy<\/em>, marking the first international option deal for the format. Writers are attached, and conversations are ongoing with acting talent.<\/p>\n

Night Therapy<\/em> launched on Israel\u2019s yes TV in June. The 10×60-minute drama is about a psychologist struggling to raise his two children after the suicide of his wife. To strike a better work-life balance and support his kids during the day as they rebuild their lives, he decides to shift his practice to receive patients at night.<\/p>\n

Sharon Levi, managing director at yes Studios, commented: \u201cSquareOne Productions has created brilliant and memorable adaptations of Your Honor, so I can think of no better or safer hands for our latest title. Night Therapy<\/em> is a powerful and often moving story that plays both dark and light and affords the viewer uniquely personal and intimate insights into a cast of intriguing, well-rounded characters. The issues for which most people seek therapy are often rooted in family, relationships or career\u2014so they are fully universal. We therefore have high hopes that this adaptation will be the first of many.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a stroke of fate, an unconventional therapist\u2014following his instincts\u2014shifts his therapy sessions to the night. This not only results in a completely new approach to his clients but also creates a magical night-time universe as a counterpoint to daytime, offering new and surprising perspectives. Outlandish clients, a unique \u201cdark\u201d humor, very special color and tone, combined with the excellent cast and unique German\/Austrian setting, should be the ingredients for a hit show. In this series, the therapist himself is in our focus. Not only are direct reflections of his conflicts with those of his patients created, but the visualization of a different time level also enables the connection between the present and past. Confronted with loss and grief, our main character is a life-affirming, humorous figure who faces all adversities openly and courageously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Munteanu continued: \u201cThe characters and episodic plots of the original are basically retained, but the language is infused with lightness, irony and wordplay.
