The majority was filmed on the Greek island of Hydra, where Cohen and Ihlen lived during the 1960s. There, they joined Australian novelist Charmian Clift and her husband George Johnston, the matriarch and patriarch of a bohemian group of writers, artists, poets and outcasts who were exploring a new world of free love, drugs and artistic freedom but also experiencing the rivalries and jealousy that accompanied their intense lives.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Wolff (<em>A Quiet Place: Day One<\/em>, <em>Oppenheimer<\/em>, <em>Hereditary<\/em>) stars as Cohen, and Thea Sofie Loch N\u00e6ss (<em>The Last Kingdom<\/em>, <em>Delete Me<\/em>, <em>A Storm for Christmas<\/em>) plays Ihlen. The cast also features Anna Torv (<em>The Newsreader<\/em>, <em>The Last of Us<\/em>, <em>Mindhunter<\/em>), Noah Taylor (<em>Preacher<\/em>, <em>Peaky Blinders<\/em>, <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>) and Peter Stormare (<em>American Gods<\/em>, <em>Fargo<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>So Long, Marianne<\/em> is co-produced by Redpoint Productions, Tanweer Productions and C3 Media, with the support of the Norwegian Film Institute, Creative Europe MEDIA, Nordisk Film &amp; TV Fond, and Rogers Cable Network Fund. It is developed by Ingeborg Klyve (<em>Exit<\/em>), \u00d8ystein Karlsen (<em>Exit<\/em>, <em>Dag<\/em>, <em>Lilyhammer<\/em>, <em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em>) and Tony Wood (<em>Irvine Welsh\u2019s Crime<\/em>, <em>Marcella<\/em>, <em>The Burning Girls<\/em>) and written for the screen by \u00d8ystein Karlsen and Jo Nesb\u00f8 (<em>Harry Hole<\/em>, <em>Kingdom<\/em>, <em>Headhunters<\/em>).
