UKTV has appointed Paramount alum Claire Hookway as commissioning executive to bolster the development of original drama.<\/p>\n
Hookway, who was most recently a senior creative executive at Paramount Television International Studios, will support the delivery of scripted programs across UKTV\u2019s Alibi, U&DRAMA and U&Dave channels.<\/p>\n
UKTV\u2019s growing portfolio of original dramas includes U&DRAMA\u2019s The Marlow Murder Club<\/em> and Alibi\u2019s The Red King<\/em> and Annika<\/em>. Brand-new upcoming drama series include Chris Lang\u2019s I, Jack Wright<\/em>; Bookish<\/em>, created by Mark Gatiss; and Mudtown<\/em>, a co-production with S4C for Alibi. Also upcoming are a reimagining of Bergerac<\/em> and the Mitford sisters drama Outrageous<\/em>, both of which will launch on U&DRAMA and U in 2025.<\/p>\n At Paramount, Hookway worked across multiple original drama commissions for Paramount+, including A Gentleman in Moscow<\/em>, No Escape<\/em>, Sexy Beast<\/em> and the upcoming series The Road Trip<\/em>, an adaptation of Beth O\u2019Leary\u2019s novel.<\/p>\n Prior to that, Hookway was a development editor at Big Light Pictures, where her credits included Leonardo<\/em> and Radio Man<\/em>. Before that, she built her scripted production experience working on dramas such as World on Fire<\/em> (Mammoth Screen for BBC), The Bay<\/em> (Tall Story Pictures for ITV), Bulletproof<\/em> (Vertigo Films for Sky) and EastEnders<\/em> and Holby City<\/em> (BBC Studios for BBC).
