Prime Video has given a series order for Young Sherlock<\/em>, with Guy Ritchie (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare<\/em>, The Covenant<\/em>, The Gentlemen<\/em>) directing and executive producing.<\/p>\n

Hero Fiennes Tiffin (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare<\/em>, The Woman King<\/em>) is on board to start in the titular role of the series, which will be an action-packed origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle\u2019s iconic detective. It will center on 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes, who finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University.<\/p>\n

The series, inspired by Andy Lane\u2019s book series Young Sherlock Holmes<\/em>, is written by showrunner Matthew Parkhill (Deep State<\/em>, Rogue<\/em>), who is also executive producing alongside Simon Kelton (Eddie the Eagle<\/em>), Ivan Atkinson (The Gentlemen<\/em>), Simon Maxwell (The Woman in the Wall<\/em>, Deep State<\/em>), Dhana Gilbert (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/em>), Colin Wilson (The Mandalorian<\/em>) and Marc Resteghini. Harriet Creelman is a co-executive producer. It is being produced by Motive Pictures.<\/p>\n

Kelton originally conceived the project and packaged it with Atkinson, then partnered with Motive Pictures, Gilbert and Resteghini, who developed and brought the series to Amazon MGM Studios. Gilbert and Resteghini both have overall deals with Amazon MGM Studios.<\/p>\n
