{"id":20607,"date":"2024-04-12T03:00:18","date_gmt":"2024-04-12T07:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2024-04-12T06:29:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T10:29:56","slug":"cheaters-lands-another-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cheaters-lands-another-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheaters Lands Another Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BBC has commissioned a second season of the comedy-drama <em>Cheaters<\/em>, set to air on BBC One and iPlayer.<\/p>\n<p>Susan Wokoma (<em>Enola Holmes<\/em>), Joshua McGuire (<em>Anatomy of a Scandal<\/em>), Jack Fox (<em>Riviera<\/em>) and Callie Cooke (<em>Rules of the Game<\/em>) are set to return to the Clerkenwell Films-produced series. BBC Studios is the international distributor.<\/p>\n<p>Season two will pick up a few months after the first left off and ask whether a relationship that started as an affair can ever transcend its messy beginnings.<\/p>\n<p>Petra Fried, joint managing director for Clerkenwell Films, said: &#8220;In the first series of <em>Cheaters<\/em>, writer Oli Lyttelton created a totally believable set of characters whose romantic complications were hilarious and compelling in equal measure. With the same team in front of and behind the camera, it\u2019s great to have our <em>Cheaters<\/em> back on the BBC, giving us a chance to see if the two sets of neighbors are managing their newly-aligned relationships\u2014and also introducing us to some intriguing newcomers, who viewers will meet in due course\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Danielle Scott-Haughton, commissioning editor for BBC Drama, added: &#8220;Series one of <em>Cheaters<\/em> really did prosper, with a fantastic response from viewers and critics alike.
