Max has given a 15-episode straight-to-series order for The Pitt<\/em>, a new medical drama from John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.<\/p>\n

Starring and executive produced by Noah Wyle (ER<\/em>, The Librarian<\/em>, Falling Skies<\/em>), the series will provide a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in America today through the lens of those working in a hospital in Pittsburgh. R. Scott Gemmill (NCIS: Los Angeles<\/em>, ER<\/em>, JAG<\/em>) will pen the first episode and serve as showrunner.<\/p>\n

In addition to Wyle, other executive producers include Gemmill, John Wells (Animal Kingdom<\/em>, Shameless<\/em>, The West Wing<\/em>, ER<\/em>) and John Wells Productions\u2019 Erin Jontow (Animal Kingdom<\/em>, Maid<\/em>, Shameless<\/em>), Simran Baidwan (Manifest<\/em>, Ordinary Joe<\/em>, The Good Doctor<\/em>, Chicago Med<\/em>) and Michael Hissrich (Shameless<\/em>, The West Wing<\/em>, Third Watch<\/em>).<\/p>\n

John Wells Productions is currently under an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television.<\/p>\n
