ARTE France has boarded the Movistar Plus+ original The New Years<\/em>, which is directed in part by Rodrigo Sorogoyen (Riot Police<\/em>, Offworld<\/em>, The Beasts<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The series begins with 30-year-olds \u00d3scar and Ana getting ready to run away from their lives before they cross paths with each other and fall in love. Over ten episodes, it follows their journey over ten years as they confront the passage of time and the choices they\u2019ve made.<\/p>\n

Sorogoyen directs the first four episodes of the series, while Sandra Romero directs three and David Mart\u00edn de los Santos directs three. The series is written by Sara Cano, Paula Fabra and Sorogoyen, along with Marina Rodr\u00edguez Col\u00e1s and Antonio Rojano.<\/p>\n

The lead roles of The New Years<\/em> are played by Iria del R\u00edo (El Inmortal<\/em>, El incre\u00edble finde menguante<\/em>, Riot Police<\/em>) and Francesco Carril (Un amor<\/em>, La reconquista<\/em>, Galgos<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The New Years<\/em> has wrapped filming, during which it shot in Spain\u2019s Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha, France\u2019s Lyon and Germany\u2019s Berlin. Movistar Plus+ International is handling distribution.<\/p>\n

First, because it\u2019s a true pleasure to renew our production commitment with our friends from Movistar Plus+ after two great seasons of Hierro<\/em>. Secondly, because it is an honor to work with the unique and talented creator and director Rodrigo Sorogoyen. His way [of depicting] the chemistry that operates between a woman and a man from their initial encounter on a New Year\u2019s Eve is by itself fascinating. But not only that, he dares to make them travel over the years\u2014ten years for ten episodes, revolving around the same moment of the year: New Year\u2019s Eve.\u201d<\/p>\n
