It is currently in production on the third season of <em>The Newsreader<\/em> for the ABC, which became one of the BBC\u2019s most-watched dramas when it launched in the U.K. The teen surfing drama <em>Surviving Summer<\/em> had a second season this year, spending two weeks in Netflix\u2019s global Top 10.<\/p>\n<p>Werner Film Productions will continue to be led by Company Director Joanna Werner and Managing Director Stuart Menzies. It will operate alongside BBC Studios\u2019 local production arm as an independent label, with both companies producing their own projects.<\/p>\n<p>Kylie Washington, general manager and creative director of BBC Studios Productions Australia, said: \u201cI\u2019m excited to welcome Werner Film Productions into the family.
