Hailing from across the globe, these selections span the breadth of the landscape, from crime and suspense to romance, dark comedy and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festival\/tv-drama-screenings-festival-324\/\">TVDramaScreeningsFestival.com<\/a>\u00a0to screen these titles. Clicking on each show title below will take you directly to the trailer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ZDF Studios is rolling out the six-part series <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-zweiflers\/\"><strong><em>The Zweiflers<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to its base of scripted buyers. Produced by Berlin-based Turbokultur in co-production with ARD Degeto Film and Hessischer Rundfunk, the series follows a dysfunctional Jewish family. Dr. Markus Sch\u00e4fer, president and CEO of ZDF Studios, highlights the dramedy\u2019s impressive cast. \u201c<em>The Zweiflers<\/em>\u00a0stars Aaron Altaras as Samuel. His credits include the Emmy-award-winning Netflix series\u00a0<em>Unorthodox<\/em>\u00a0and the Disney+\/Star drama\u00a0<em>Deutsches Haus<\/em>, among others. British actress Saffron Coomber (<em>Three Little Birds<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Small Axe<\/em>) plays Saba, while Swiss-Hungarian actress Sunnyi Melles (<em>Kaiser Karl<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Triangle of Sadness<\/em>) takes on the role of Mimi Zweifler, Samuel\u2019s mother. Mark Ivanir (<em>Heart of Stone<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Schindler\u2019s List<\/em>) plays Jack Horovitz and Broadway and TV actress Eleanor Reissa (<em>The Walking Dead<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Plot Against America<\/em>) performs the role of the grandmother. The series also stars the award-winning singer and actress Ute Lemper as Tammi and Mike Burstyn, winner of two \u2018Israeli Oscars\u2019 and the first Israeli to perform on Broadway, as Symcha Zweifler.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another European drama on offer in the TV Drama Screenings Festival, the tentatively titled <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-end-of-dreams\/\"><strong><em>The End of Dreams<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0follows intertwined stories set during and after World War II. \u201cOur decisions determine our actions and our actions the world around us,\u201d says Gunnar Dedio, CEO of LOOKSfilm. \u201c<em>The End of Dreams<\/em>\u00a0takes us to such decisive moments and persons in key characters in WWII and its aftermath. In a unique style and from radically different perspectives, it unravels the events that shaped the world we live in today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Western European highlights showcased in the TV Drama Screenings Festival include Bavaria Media International\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/codex-632\/\"><strong><em>Codex 632<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the Global Screen movie\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-undertaker\/\"><strong><em>The Undertaker<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All3Media International continues to bet big on its diverse array of scripted formats. \u201cAs production costs seem to be generally increasing, scripted formats are ever more attractive to producers and broadcasters as they present a more efficient and economical route to bring stories to the screen, saving a good percentage of a budget\u2019s development costs and time,\u201d says Stephen Driscoll, executive VP for EMEA.
