{"id":20111,"date":"2024-02-05T10:37:43","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T15:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/ten-pound-poms-returning-for-second-season\/"},"modified":"2024-02-05T12:23:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T17:23:55","slug":"ten-pound-poms-returning-for-second-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/ten-pound-poms-returning-for-second-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Ten Pound Poms Returning for Second Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A second season of <em>Ten Pound Poms<\/em> has been ordered for BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and Stan in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The new season will continue to follow nurse Kate Thorne and the Roberts family as they continue to adjust to life in Australia after leaving dreary post-war Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Keegan (<em>Fool Me Once<\/em>, <em>Brassic<\/em>) returns as Kate Thorne, and Faye Marsay (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, <em>Black Mirror<\/em>) and Warren Brown (<em>The Responder<\/em>, <em>Luther<\/em>) reprise their roles as the heads of the Roberts family.<\/p>\n<p>Also returning for the second season are actors Rob Collins (<em>Mystery Road<\/em>, <em>Firebite<\/em>), Leon Ford (<em>Elvis<\/em>, <em>The Light Between Oceans<\/em>), Declan Coyle (<em>Long Black<\/em>, <em>Life of Jess<\/em>), Stephen Curry (<em>Hounds of Love<\/em>, <em>The Castle<\/em>), Hattie Hook (<em>Savage River<\/em>, <em>Of An Age<\/em>), Finn Treacy (<em>The Portable Door<\/em>, <em>Young Rock<\/em>), Emma Hamilton (<em>The Tudors<\/em>, <em>Mr Selfridge<\/em>) and Cheree Cassidy (<em>Underbelly<\/em>, <em>The Time of Our Lives<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Ten Pound Poms is written and created by Danny Brocklehurst (<em>Fool Me Once<\/em>, <em>Ordinary Lies<\/em>, <em>Brassic<\/em>) and is made by Eleven (<em>Sex Education<\/em>, <em>Red Rose<\/em>). Filming for season two is set to begin in Australia in mid-February. Sony Pictures Television distributes the series worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe positive viewer response to <em>Ten Pound Poms<\/em> was a true delight,\u201d Brocklehurst said. \u201cWe tapped into a little-known part of our recent history and told stories that reflected the realities of the real Poms that made the trip.
