{"id":20106,"date":"2024-02-02T11:06:09","date_gmt":"2024-02-02T16:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/acorn-tv-commissions-whitstable-pearl-season-three\/"},"modified":"2024-02-02T12:54:03","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:54:03","slug":"acorn-tv-commissions-whitstable-pearl-season-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/acorn-tv-commissions-whitstable-pearl-season-three\/","title":{"rendered":"Acorn TV Commissions Whitstable Pearl Season Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMC Networks\u2019\u00a0Acorn TV has commissioned a third season of the British crime drama <em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em> from Buccaneer (<em>Irvine Welsh\u2019s Crime<\/em>, <em>The Doll Factory<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The third season will see Kerry Godliman (<em>After Life<\/em>) reprise her role as restaurant owner Pearl Nolan, who continues to build her private detective business and finds herself in more diverse investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Also returning for season three are Howard Charles, Frances Barber, Robert Webb, Isobelle Molloy and Sophia del Pizzo.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Walden (<em>Marcella<\/em>) returns as writer for season three, alongside Sarah Louise Hawkins (<em>Miss Scarlet &amp; the Duke<\/em>), Joe Ainsworth (<em>Sanditon<\/em>), Ciara Conway (<em>Holby City<\/em>) and Kit Lambert (<em>Death in Paradise<\/em>). The series is based on Julie Wassmer\u2019s novels.<\/p>\n<p><em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em> is distributed internationally by Cineflix Rights. Season three is set to begin production in Whitstable, England in March 2024. It will exclusively premiere on Acorn TV in North America, New Zealand, Australia and the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>Wassmer said: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that <em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em> will be returning for a third season, as are those all around the world who have taken this series to their hearts\u2014together with its magical setting. Be prepared for more edge-of-the-seat drama, intriguing cases for Pearl and McGuire to solve and perhaps the greatest mystery of all: Will they finally get together?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Godliman commented: \u201cI\u2019m so excited to once again be portraying Pearl Nolan in the third season of <em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em>.
