BBC Studios is set to distribute Steven Moffat’s new cancel culture comedy-drama Douglas is Cancelled<\/em>, a four-part ITVX commission.<\/p>\n

Produced by Hartswood Films and SkyShowtime, the series, set in the world of television news, stars Hugh Bonneville and Karen Gillan, alongside Ben Miles, Alex Kingston, Nick Mohammed and Simon Russell Beale.<\/p>\n

“I just sat down and wrote this\u2014didn\u2019t even tell anyone what I was doing,” Moffat said. “And now it\u2019s all happening, thanks to the amazing Sue Vertue (renowned TV producer and in a rare moment of weakness, my wife). I can\u2019t quite believe we\u2019ve managed to get the mighty Hugh Bonneville involved as Douglas and that we\u2019ve lured my old friend Karen Gillan back from Hollywood to play Madeline. And if that\u2019s not enough, we\u2019ve got Ben Miles, Alex Kingston, Nick Mohammed and Simon Russell Beale. It\u2019s the kind of cast that makes you terrified about stepping into the room.”<\/p>\n
