All3Media International has signed a new deal with AMC Networks\u2019 Acorn TV to bring a trio of recent drama titles to the U.S. streaming service.<\/p>\n
The acquisition includes the miniseries Mayflies<\/em>, starring Martin Compston, Tony Curran and Ashley Jensen. Based on the best-selling novel by Andrew O\u2019Hagan, it is told using two timelines, following Tully and Jimmy\u2019s adolescent friendship in the 1980s to their honest adult friendship as tragedy strikes in 2017.<\/p>\n Mayflies is produced by Synchronicity for BBC One.<\/p>\n Also coming to Acorn TV in the U.S. is Detective #24<\/em>, a character-led drama produced by B-Reel Films for Sweden\u2019s SVT and Germany\u2019s ZDF. The series explores the complex relationship between a recently fired prosecutor and a skilled detective, who is also a Somalian refugee, as they investigate the case of a missing teenager.<\/p>\n Lastly, Acorn TV picked up Severn Screen\u2019s Steeltown Murders<\/em>, starring Philip Glenister and Steffan Rhodri.
