Discovery in New Zealand and Paramount+ in Canada picked up a second season of Helium\u2019s <em>Last King of The Cross<\/em>, charting the rise of John Ibrahim from poverty-stricken immigrant to infamous nightclub mogul in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>Season two dives even deeper into the world of Kings Cross as the character of Ibrahim expands his empire into the queer nightclub scene.<\/p>\n<p>NBCUniversal International Networks acquired season two of <em>Reginald the Vampire<\/em>, produced by Great Pacific Media, Modern Story, December Films and Cineflix Studios, for France, Iberia, Central and Eastern Europe, German-speaking Europe and the U.K. Sky (U.K.), Bell Media (Canada) and M6\u2019s 6play streaming platform also bought the series, which stars Jacob Batalon (<em>Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em>) and turns traditional vampire tropes on their head.<\/p>\n<p>The feature thriller <em>Sugar<\/em>, inspired by the real-life story of the \u201cCocaine Cowgirls,\u201d was picked up by Lifetime in the U.S. and Paramount+ in the U.K. It follows two young Canadian influencers who embark on a dream trip that ends up turning into a nightmare when they become entangled in a deadly drug smuggling operation. The movie stars Katherine McNamara (<em>Shadowhunters<\/em>, <em>Maze Runner: The Death Cure<\/em>), Jasmine Sky Sarin (<em>Perfect High<\/em>), Armand Assante (<em>Gotti<\/em>) and \u00c9ric Bruneau (<em>Coroner<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlongside working with producers to develop and launch new dramas, building successful scripted franchises is a key part of our strategy,\u201d said James Durie, head of scripted at Cineflix Rights. \u201cI\u2019m delighted to be closing multiple second-season deals for two of our latest series, <em>Last King of The Cross<\/em> and <em>Reginald the Vampire<\/em>, which feature A-list talent in front of and behind the camera.
