You\u2019ll find an abundance of non-English-language scripted series on offer at MIPCOM, and we\u2019ve highlighted a small selection of the best below.<\/p>\n

Clicking on each show title below will take you directly to the trailer.<\/p>\n ZDF Studios has been rolling out a string of high-impact, ambitious dramas as of late, including the six-part\u00a0Boundless\u2014Magellan\u2019s and Elcano\u2019s Journey to the Edge of the Earth<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe producers secured top-class talent on- and off-screen to do this epic story justice,\u201d says Susanne Frank, Director Drama. \u201cThe high production value throughout makes this a premium \u2018must-watch\u2019 series that will captivate audiences around the world.\u201d Frank also highlights the second season of the horror anthology\u00a0Stories to Stay Awake<\/em><\/a>, the reboot of the iconic Spanish series from the 1960s.<\/p>\n ORF-Enterprise is bringing a diverse slate to MIPCOM that includes a new coming-of-age drama,\u00a0School of Champions<\/em><\/a>, set at a ski academy. \u201cIn this intense setting, the students navigate the thin line between love and jealousy, loyalty and betrayal, ambition and frustration in eight exciting episodes,\u201d says Armin Luttenberger, head of content sales international. It is \u201ca creative collaboration of young filmmakers, an established Austrian production company and three public broadcasters.\u201d<\/p>\n While best known for its lineup of British drama, All3Media International has been steadily expanding its international lineup and arrives in Cannes with a new series from Wales,\u00a0Tree on A Hill<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(<\/a>Pren ar y Bryn<\/em><\/a>)<\/a>, \u201cthe latest drama from the brilliant team at Fiction Factory, whose celebrated drama\u00a0Hinterland<\/em>\u00a0(Y Gwyll<\/em>) established Welsh noir as an internationally recognized genre,\u201d says Lauren Jackson, VP of scripted content at All3Media International. \u201cSet against the atmospheric Brecon Beacons, this anticipated series delivers a rich mix of dark humor, unique characters and a touch of the absurd as it follows the lives of two unlikely heroes whose quiet existence is changed in an instant when they find themselves on the wrong side of the law.\u201d The company is also offering up two Nordic thrillers:\u00a0Black Sands<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(<\/a>Sv\u00f6rtu Sandar<\/em><\/a>)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Blinded\u00a0<\/em><\/a>(<\/a>Fartblinda<\/em><\/a>)<\/a>.<\/p>\n Crime and suspense are also on the ZDF Studios lineup, with offerings such as\u00a0White Night<\/em><\/a>, a 12-part drama set in two different time periods. \u201cA family struggling to cope with an imbalance of power wielded by a person who is no longer alive, interwoven with a murder mystery, makes for a compelling series,\u201d says Mirela Nastase, Director Drama.<\/p>\n Bavaria Media International is showcasing a thriller with a more comedic bent in\u00a0Dead End\u2014The Sworn Sisters of Suburbia<\/em><\/a>, which has two seasons available. \u201cDead End<\/em>\u00a0blends tension, dry humor and feminist relatability in a universal manner,\u201d says Helge K\u00f6hnen, head of content sales. \u201cThe production quality mimics and updates popular narratives known since\u00a0Desperate Housewives<\/em>\u00a0with international grace.\u201d<\/p>\n Turkish drama continues to find new fans worldwide, and Global Agency heads to MIPCOM with two buzzy new highlights. Flipping the script on traditional love stories,\u00a0Another Love<\/em><\/a>\u00a0sees a prosecutor and an investigative journalist find each other as they search for a serial killer. Izzet Pinto, founder and CEO, also highlights a second season of\u00a0One Love<\/em><\/a>, calling it a \u201cpowerful drama\u201d about two people who seek to overcome their differences and find harmony.\u201d<\/p>\n Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) is looking forward to introducing clients to its new slate, which includes the youthful love story\u00a0Come What May<\/em><\/a>, tackling \u201ccontemporary themes such as social media addiction, family dynamics, generational clashes and parent-child relationships,\u201d says Mustafa Ilbeyli, director of advertising and sales.\u00a0My Lovely Family<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is set \u201cin a harmonious yet playfully conflicted atmosphere,\u201d Ilbeyli says. \u201cIt underlines the enduring importance of family and the comforting embrace of a shared home, whatever the circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n Another key highlight in the International Drama Screenings Festival is ZDF Studios\u2019 sci-fi-tinged YA drama,\u00a0Feelings<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe mystery and coming-of-age series is set in a fictional village in the middle of a mystical forest that shakes the boundaries of reality and tells stories about friendship, love, self-doubt and the great magic of feelings,\u201d says Sebastian Krekeler, Director Drama.<\/p>\n
