{"id":19335,"date":"2023-10-06T10:25:55","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T14:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cj-enm-america-appoints-head-scripted-tv\/"},"modified":"2023-10-06T11:17:08","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T15:17:08","slug":"cj-enm-america-appoints-head-of-scripted-tv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cj-enm-america-appoints-head-of-scripted-tv\/","title":{"rendered":"CJ ENM America Appoints Head of Scripted TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CJ ENM America has tapped Elsie Choi as executive VP, head of scripted TV, effective immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Choi will continue the company\u2019s mission to further its narratives globally and will serve as the creative point of contact for CJ ENM and its subsidiary\/affiliate content studios in the U.S. In addition to developing new original series, she will adapt titles from the company\u2019s format library for English-speaking audiences.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this, Choi served as a non-writing executive producer on <em>Interior Chinatown<\/em>, from 20th Television and Hulu and creator and executive producer Charles Yu. The series stars Jimmy O. Yang (<em>Crazy Rich Asians<\/em>) and is directed by Taika Waititi (<em>Jojo Rabbit<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Choi\u2019s most recent position was head of cable\/streaming TV at Rideback, where she also served as the executive director of the MRC x Rideback TV Incubator.<\/p>\n<p>Her career in television originally began as the senior VP of development for Mad Rabbit, a joint venture between Red Arrow Studios and writer, director and producer Kari Skogland (<em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em>). Choi later served as head of development for Willis Brothers Films, Bruce Willis\u2019s production company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome Elsie with great anticipation and look forward to the exciting and innovative projects she will bring to the company,\u201d said Angela Killoren, president of U.S. scripted at CJ ENM America, to whom Choi will report. \u201cThis appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional content that resonates with diverse audiences around the world.
