Filming has begun for the second season and first Christmas special of the hit BBC One crime drama Beyond Paradise<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The new season and Christmas special will see the return of its main cast as Shipton Abbott\u2019s new detective inspector is tasked with solving a shocking crime on a steam train, an apron attack predicted by a medium and the disappearance of a local fishing legend.<\/p>\n

Filming is taking place around Southwest England in Devon and Cornwall.<\/p>\n

Created by Robert Thorogood and Tony Jordan, the second series of Beyond Paradise<\/em> is a co-commission between the BBC and BritBox International and is produced by Red Planet Pictures, part of the Asacha Media Group. The Christmas special is set to air during the 2023 festive season, while season two will debut next year. BBC Studios handles international distribution for both seasons.<\/p>\n

Kris Marshall says: \u201cI’m beyond excited to have begun filming the second series of Beyond Paradise<\/em>,\u201d actor Kris Marshall said. \u201cShipton Abbott is such a wonderful location to call home for a while, and it’s a delight to join up with my fellow police team for another batch of weird and wonderful cases and to see what’s in store for Humphrey and Martha in the next chapter of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Actor Sally Bretton added, \u201cSeries one of Beyond Paradise<\/em> was such a joy to be a part of, and I’m ecstatic to have returned to what already feels like a second home in Shipton Abbott. I can’t wait for audiences to see what we have planned\u2014the second series is set to be brilliant!”<\/p>\n
