The action drama Paper Empire<\/em>, starring Robert Davi and Denise Richards, is to film a third season of ten episodes in AlUla.<\/p>\n

Film AlUla\u2014the Royal Commission for AlUla\u2019s film agency established to promote and support international film and TV production in the county of AlUla, located in northwest Saudi Arabia\u2014will host the production. Preproduction has begun, with filming to get underway later this year.<\/p>\n

The series is produced by Robert Gillings, Michael Tadross Jr., Bernard Salzman and Edward Pershing. Gillings created the show, which comes from Robert Gillings Productions, Tadross Media Group and Inner Circle Films.<\/p>\n

Alongside Davi and Richards, the cast includes Kelsey Grammar, Carole Alt, Helena Mattsson, Wesley Snipes, Anne Archer, Richard Grieco, Robert Knepper, Steve Guttenberg and a host of returning and guest stars.<\/p>\n

Charlene Deleon-Jones, executive director of Film AlUla, said: \u201cSince opening to productions in 2020, we have been kept busy welcoming a range of different projects and international teams to AlUla\u2014offering a variety of incredible locations for each story. We are delighted the Paper Empire<\/em> team will be basing their new season in AlUla; we\u2019ve worked with the creative team to provide locations that underscore the glamor, opulence and world-class production value of the series.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tadross Jr. added: \u201cAfter visiting AlUla earlier this year, we immediately knew we had to film here. The incredible landscapes and incomparable scenery are a perfect backdrop for the narrative\u2019s progression as the stakes become higher and more suspenseful and the characters journey outside the U.S. for the first time. We are very much looking forward to working with the experienced team at Film AlUla and are sure the cast is going to be just as blown away by the setting as we were.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gillings added: \u201cAs the creator of Paper Empire<\/em>, it is extremely exciting to develop the storyline of the show and begin filming season three in the ancient oasis city of AlUla. AlUla is called \u2018The Worlds Masterpiece\u2019 for a very good reason, and I spent days scouting its golden sands and sandstone arches, historic Old Town, founded in 6 BC, the ancient Tombs of Hegra, a UNESCO site and the largest glass building in the world, The Maraya Concert Hall. I was impressed by the professionalism and hospitality provided and immediately inspired by the capabilities of Film AlUla and Film AlUla\u2019s executive director, Charlene Deleon-Jones, on my trip.
