BritBox International and UKTV\u2019s Drama channel have commissioned a third season, including a feature-length Christmas special, of Sister Boniface Mysteries<\/em> from BBC Studios.<\/p>\n

Lorna Watson will return as Vespa-driving, crime-solving Catholic nun Sister Boniface. During the new season, she will find herself stranded on a train during Britain\u2019s worst winter on record. When a precious jewel is stolen from its safe and a passenger is discovered murdered, she will have to use her skills to find who is responsible.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the series, a famous organist is murdered in the chapel, Great Slaughter\u2019s first-sci convention results in a mysterious kidnapping and a \u201cdead cert\u201d at the screen tests for the new Agent Best ends up dead. Additionally, Felix\u2019s fianc\u00e9e Victoria arrives from Bermuda with an ultimatum.<\/p>\n

Guest cast for the third season includes Rupert Vansittart (Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack), Siobhan Redmond (Queens of Mystery, Two Doors Down) and Timothy West (Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack).<\/p>\n

Sister Boniface Mysteries is a BBC Studios Continuing Drama co-production for BritBox International and UKTV\u2019s Drama channel and streaming service UKTV Play. BritBox will also premiere the series in South Africa, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The series producer is Mat McHale, with executive producers Neil Irvine for BBC Studios and Reemah Sakaan and Stephen Nye for BritBox International.<\/p>\n

The feature-length Christmas special will be written by series creator Jude Tindall and directed by Ian Barber.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last two series, Sister Boniface Mysteries has developed an enthusiastic and dedicated following both in the U.K. and internationally, so we\u2019re delighted to be bringing her back for a third series,\u201d Irvine s aid. \u201cLorna Watson will return with fan favorites DI Sam Gillespie (Max Brown), DS Felix Livingstone (Jerry Iwu) and WPC Peggy Button (Ami Metcalf) also starring. One thing\u2019s for sure: if there\u2019s evidence to be found, Sister Boniface will find it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Watson said, \u201cPlaying Sister Boniface is a dream, as is filming in the Cotswolds, so I\u2019m thrilled to be back for another series. I can\u2019t wait to get the team back together, jump on the Vespa and see what crimes there are to solve in series three!\u201d<\/p>\n
