ZEE5 Global has revealed that Taj\u2014Reign of Revenge<\/em>, a second season follow-up of Taj\u2014Divided by Blood<\/em>, is set to debut on May 12, with new episodes every Friday.<\/p>\n

The first season saw King Akbar\u2019s sons battle for the Mughal throne. The second season will take place 15 years after the first and see a fiercer, grittier and darker fight begin as the cracks within the family continue to deepen.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s main cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Dharmendra, Aashim Gulati, Shubham Kumar Mehra, Sandhya Mridul, Zareena Wahab, Queen Ruqaiya Begum and Rahul Bosein, with secondary roles played by Pankaj Saraswat, Aayam Mehta, Digambar Prasad and Shivani Tanksale. Season two will see Sauraseni Maitra, Jiansh Agarwal and Mitansh Lulla join the cast.<\/p>\n

Archana Anand, chief business officer of ZEE5 Global, said, \u201cClose on the heels of the huge success of Taj\u2014Divided by Blood<\/em>, we are happy to now announce Taj\u2014Reign of Revenge<\/em>. In this, viewers will be taken on a gripping journey that charts new conflicts and familial rivalries within the Mughal Empire. We are hopeful that this new season will receive as much love from our viewers as the first one did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nimisha Pandey, chief content officer of Hindi originals at ZEE5 Global, said, \u201cThe viewers\u2019 response to Taj season one has been heartening to say the least, encouraging us to unveil the second season of this succession drama in such a short span. A talented team has come together to transport the viewers back to the Mughal era, as we delve deeper into the complex dynamics between Emperor Akbar and his sons, Salim and Daniyal. In the second season, we hope to take audiences on an immersive journey through history and continue to win their hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Producer Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe Digital commented, \u201cIt took us five years to put together this series, and in this journey, we have seen many ups and downs. However, the response has made each moment of this journey worth it. Actor Gulati added, \u201cPeriodic dramas are something that have always caught my eye, and now being in one has been an exhilarating journey. I am glad that the audiences have loved season one of the series and all I can say is that Salim’s character arc in season two is something to look out for. Season two is grittier, darker, bolder and personally for me, my best yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Actor Maitra commented, \u201cTaj season one has become a cult with love pouring in from different parts of the world.
