Its subsequent series traverse the globe with interconnected stories, with iterations already underway in Italy and India.<\/p>\n<p>With the two additional relocating projects of <em>Citadel<\/em>\u00a0and HBO\u2019s <em>Wondermill <\/em>(relocating from\u00a0Oregon), California\u2019s tax credit program has welcomed a total of 33 relocating TV series from other states and nations since the expanded tax credit program was launched in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Among the new TV series selected for the latest round of tax credits is the BET drama <em>True to the Game<\/em>\u00a0(based on the film trilogy with the same title), which will generate an estimated $11 million in qualified expenditures during its first season.<\/p>\n<p>Other new TV series in the current round include <em>Forever<\/em>\u00a0(Netflix), <em>Paradise City<\/em>\u00a0(Disney), untitled Amazon Studios series and untitled Paramount Global series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled that our tax credit program is welcoming such a diverse range of TV projects in terms of storytelling, budget and employment,\u201d said the California Film Commission\u2019s executive director, Colleen Bell. \u201c<em>Citadel<\/em>\u00a0will become our biggest relocating TV series so far in terms of qualified spending, while a project like <em>True to the Game<\/em> affirms that our tax credit program also addresses the needs of smaller scale yet still very impactful TV projects.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Amazon Studios thriller Citadel is moving production from the U.K. for its second season to become California\u2019s highest-spending relocating TV series to date, with an estimated $119 million in qualified expenditures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":350,"featured_media":18551,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[70],"tags":[1632,3626],"class_list":["post-18550","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-top-stories","tag-amazon-studios","tag-citadel","pmpro-has-access"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
