Behind the scenes, though, neutral Switzerland takes center stage in a battle between the secret agents of the world powers.<\/p>\n<p>A young nurse unexpectedly gets caught between the fronts, and in order to win back her illegitimate child, she has to work as a spy for the German Secret Service. She then suddenly becomes the tipping point in a risky plan that could decide the continent\u2019s fate between war and peace.<\/p>\n<p>The cast includes Dominique Devenport (<em>Sisi<\/em>), David Kross (<em>The Reader<\/em>), Jeanette Hain (<em>Never Look Away<\/em>), Max Herbrechter (<em>Rauhn\u00e4chte<\/em>), Sunnyi Melles (<em>Triangle of Sadness<\/em>) and Stipe Erceg (<em>Vienna Blood<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Davos is produced by Contrast Film, Letterbox Filmproduktion, Amalia Film, SRF and ARD Degeto. It is in German and Swiss-German with English subtitles and dubbed in French and Italian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely pleased to launch presales of this major, big budget production <em>Davos<\/em> at MIPTV,\u201d said Alice Buquoy, senior VP of international sales and acquisitions at Global Screen. \u201cIt\u2019s a cinematically stunning, sumptuous and thrilling series set in an incredible location in Switzerland, with a narrative that deals with many difficult issues that Europe and other parts of the world are facing even today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Letterbox producers Michael Lehmann and Lisa Arndt, \u201c<em>Davos<\/em> certainly addresses modern-day themes. The universal relevance of the material, the shocking topicality of events and the unique setting in the snow-covered Alps of the world-renowned mountain resort make the series a most extraordinary pan-European flagship project, both from a production and a content perspective. This project would not have been possible without the support of our partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contrast Film producers Ivan Madeo and Stefan Eichenberger added, \u201cSet in neutral Switzerland, where in the shadows, the movers and shakers from across Europe were manipulating policies and events to benefit their own ends, <em>Davos<\/em> delivers a new and unique insight into the First World War and the role of Switzerland in it.
