Channel 4 and STARZ have co-commissioned the six-part psychological thriller The Couple Next Door<\/em>, loosely based on the Dutch series\u00a0New Neighbours<\/em>, from Eagle Eye Drama.<\/p>\n

When couple Evie and Pete move into an upscale neighborhood, they find themselves in a world of status anxiety but soon become friends with their neighbors, leading to a one-night affair that alters their lives forever. Sam Heughan (Outlander<\/em>), Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws<\/em>), Jessica De Gout (Pennyworth)<\/em> and Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder<\/em>) are set to star.<\/p>\n

Eagle Eye Drama is producing The Couple Next Door<\/em>, which will be available on Channel 4 in the U.K., STARZ in the U.S. and Canada and on Lionsgate+ in Latin America.\u00a0David Allison (Marcella<\/em>, Bedlam<\/em>) is writing, while Dries Vos (Suspect<\/em>, Professor T<\/em>) is directing. Executive producers are Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino and Alison Nee, with Jen Burnet as series producer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be working with Eagle Eye Drama and director Dries Vos again and adding a third series with my STARZ family,\u201d Heughan said. \u201cDries has a unique visual flair, and I\u2019m sure we\u2019re going to make something special.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEvie is an exciting challenge for me\u2014a girl whose world is turned upside down as she navigates devastating trauma, which isn\u2019t helped by unresolved issues from her past,\u201d said Tomlinson. \u201cWe have an excellent team on board, and I am looking forward to exploring this dark and complicated world alongside Sam and our director, Dries.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSam has truly found his home at STARZ as he continues to shine on our slate,\u201d said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at STARZ. \u201cThis marks our third series with the brilliant actor, and we cannot wait to see the chemistry he and Eleanor will ignite together in this provocative series.\u201d<\/p>\n

Caroline Hollick, head of drama at Channel 4, commented, \u201cThis series is an addictive, emotional roller-coaster with something to say about modern sexual mores, with an electrifying cast that will set our screens on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n
