{"id":18317,"date":"2023-03-03T10:44:37","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:44:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/zee5-commissions-second-season-broken-news\/"},"modified":"2023-03-03T10:49:04","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:49:04","slug":"zee5-commissions-second-season-of-the-broken-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/zee5-commissions-second-season-of-the-broken-news\/","title":{"rendered":"ZEE5 Commissions Second Season of The Broken News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Indian streaming platform ZEE5 has commissioned a second season of <em>The Broken News<\/em> from BBC Studios India.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the original U.K. series <em>Press<\/em>, <em>The Broken News<\/em> captures the lives of journalists and their battle between truth and sensationalism, as well as their efforts to balance work, ambition and integrity.<\/p>\n<p>The original U.K. series was created and written by Mike Bartlett (<em>Doctor Foster<\/em>, <em>King Charles III<\/em>) and was a Lookout Point, BBC Studios and Deep Indigo production, co-produced with Masterpiece.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The Broken News<\/em> is a series which authentically showcases the complications in the world of media,\u201d said Manish Kalra, chief business officer at ZEE5 India. \u201cThe first season of the show received enormous love from the audience. We hope to further fortify the creative ecosystem by presenting a gripping second chapter that sheds light on news narratives. Being a consumer-first brand, we have a strong pulse on consumer preferences, and we are sure that this show will yet again deliver to the expectation consumers have from <em>The Broken News<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nimisha Pandey, chief content officer for Hindi originals at ZEE5, said, \u201cWe look forward to canvassing a fresh chapter of <em>The Broken News<\/em> in partnership with BBC Studios India.
