{"id":18227,"date":"2023-02-14T09:34:55","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T14:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/saif-ali-khan-set-indian-version-bridge\/"},"modified":"2023-02-14T10:27:41","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T15:27:41","slug":"saif-ali-khan-set-for-indian-version-of-the-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/saif-ali-khan-set-for-indian-version-of-the-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Saif Ali Khan Set for Indian Version of The Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Banijay&#8217;s Endemol Shine India is working with Saif Ali Khan and his Black Knight Films production banner on a local version of the hit Danish\/Swedish drama <em>Bron\/Broen<\/em> (<em>The Bridge<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Khan is set to star in and jointly produce the Hindi-language version of the acclaimed Nordic series about a body that is discovered on a border shared by two countries, bringing police forces from two regions together to investigate.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Bridge<\/em> has also previously been set across the international borders of the U.S.\/Mexico, U.K.\/France, Germany\/Austria, Singapore\/Malaysia and Russia\/Estonia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The Bridge<\/em>\u2019s script is powerful, as it speaks a language recognized and enjoyed by audiences sitting anywhere in the world,&#8221; said Rishi Negi, CEO of Endemol Shine India. &#8220;It is a global story that can be made distinctively local, using the basic premise of the series and we look forward to recreating the magic of this show to captivate the Indian audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an actor and producer, this is the one-of-a-kind opportunity that one waits for,&#8221; Khan added. &#8220;It is a story that has been adapted the world over and loved by audiences, irrespective of their geographies, so yes, my team and I at Black Knight Films\u2014Kunjal Punamiya (CEO\/co-producer) and Pavan Kriplani (creative Producer\/co- producer) are super excited to be associated with this project and getting it rolling,.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Bridge was originally created and written by Hans Rosenfeldt as a joint production of Sweden&#8217;s Filmlance International, part of Banijay, and Denmark&#8217;s Nimbus Film. It was co-produced with Sveriges Television, DR, ZDF, ZDF Studios, Film i Sk\u00e5ne, NRK, Copenhagen Film Fund, Lumiere Group, Stiftelsen Ystad \u00d6sterlen Filmfond, with Norvision, and in co-operation with Malm\u00f6 Stad.
