The Philippines\u2019 ABS-CBN has begun the new year by bringing some of its top programs to international audiences in Indonesia and Africa.<\/p>\n

In Indonesia, Darna<\/em>, a modern retelling of the Filipino superhero Darna based on the comic book series by Marc Revelo, debuted on ANTV. The TV adaptation recounts the story of Narda, an ordinary girl who inherits a powerful stone that she must protect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have always presented programs with a narrative closely associated with the daily lives of Indonesian people,\u201d said Kiki Zulkarnain, ANTV’s chief program and communications officer. \u201cAs we begin the year, we present a new genre to our viewers that tells the story of the iconic Filipino heroine Darna, which also appeals to our younger audiences as she serves as a perfect role model for them. Darna<\/em> certainly makes our programming more diverse, and we hope it will not only entertain but instill values in the youth through her acts of kindness and bravery.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Africa, an English-dubbed version of Viral Scandal<\/em> has become available in 41 Sub-Saharan countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Seychelles and the Ivory Coast. The show follows the Sicat family, whose lives are disrupted by a scandalous video involving their daughter.<\/p>\n

These titles join a wide array of ABS-CBN shows that have aired abroad, including Brothers<\/em>;\u00a0Mea Culpa<\/em>; La Luna Sangre<\/em>; Since I Found You<\/em>; The Law of Revenge<\/em>; The Legal Wife<\/em>; The Promise<\/em>; The Blood Sisters<\/em>; Marry Me, Marry You<\/em>; On the Wings of Love<\/em>; and Betrayal<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
