CJ ENM Hong Kong has signed a co-production agreement with Central Motion Pictures Corporation (CMPC) and Deepwaters Digital Support for an island-culture-based scripted series in Kinmen in 2023.<\/p>\n
The collaboration, supported by Taiwan Creative Content Agency and Kinmen County\u2019s Magistrate Yang Cheng-wu, is scheduled to begin production in the second half of 2023. The series will feature the scenery and cultural heritage of Taiwan and Kinmen.<\/p>\n
Michael Jung, managing director of CJ ENM Hong Kong, said, \u201cCJ ENM Hong Kong has been actively expanding our local language productions for the global streaming audience in recent years. We are very encouraged by the warm reception toward our first two Taiwan-collaborated Mandarin scripted original series Mum, Don\u2019t Do That<\/em>\u00a0and The Amazing Grace of \u03a3<\/em>, which premiered this year. The series and cast will be announced through a press conference, which will be held in the first quarter of 2023. We hope that the three parties will continue this collaboration to develop and co-invest in the production of original and adapted content, with CJ ENM Hong Kong working with related international production houses, international streaming and linear platform channels.\u201d<\/p>\n Yang added, \u201cCentral Motion Pictures Corporation has been actively creating an international standard production environment in the past few years. Both the production software and hardware at Central Motion Pictures Corporation\u2019s film studio in Wai Shuangxi and the Central Taiwan Film Studios in Wufeng have been upgraded to production specifications required by international streaming platforms and large-scale film productions.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis collaboration project with CJ ENM Hong Kong is only the first step, and we look forward to more in-depth cooperation between the two parties in the future.
