From Scandi noir to Turkish family dramas, German historical epics to Filipino fantasy series, you\u2019ll find an abundance of non-English-language scripted series on offer at MIPCOM. We\u2019ve highlighted a selection below.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festival\/international-drama-1022\/\">InternationalDramaScreeningsFestival.com<\/a> to screen these titles. Clicking on each show title below will take you directly to the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Cross-border international collaborations continue to define the global scripted drama business, and ZDF Studios has a number on its slate, including <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-window\/\"><em>The Window<\/em><\/a>, a character-based thriller made in collaboration with Japan\u2019s Fuji TV. \u201cCreated and written by BAFTA- and Emmy Award-winning screenwriter James Payne (<em>The Musketeers<\/em>, <em>Hooten &amp; the Lady<\/em>, <em>Mr. Selfridge<\/em>), <em>The Window<\/em> is a drama thriller that explores the complex and dark off-field machinations of the world of soccer,\u201d says Robert Franke, VP Drama. \u201cIt is particularly relevant given the upcoming major soccer events!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While <em>The Window<\/em> is rooted in the gritty realism of European football, ABS-CBN Corporation is offering up fantasy and lighthearted fun with its International Drama Screenings Festival highlights. Pia Laurel, head of ISD and partnerships at the Filipino media company, highlights the buzzy superhero series <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/darna\/\"><em>Darna<\/em><\/a>, which has been a hit in prime time and on social media. \u201cIn its first week, it accumulated more than 41 million combined views on YouTube and has consistently averaged around 230,000 live concurrent views per episode,\u201d Laurel says. <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/2-good-2-be-true\/\"><em>2 Good 2 Be True<\/em><\/a>, meanwhile, is a romance drama starring popular Filipino actors Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. \u201cThis marks their first return to prime-time television since 2017, and what a comeback it is,\u201d Laurel says.<\/p>\n<p>Marking its 30th anniversary at MIPCOM, Inter Medya has an array of hit Turkish drama series on offer, including <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/another-chance\/\"><em>Another Chance<\/em><\/a>, which Can Okan, the company\u2019s founder and CEO, says \u201ctells a father-son story in a striking and heartwarming way. The series [shows] that everyone deserves a second chance by making the audience laugh and cry at the same time. <em>Another Chance<\/em> will take the audience on a wonderful journey with many stories flowing simultaneously.\u201d Also on offer are <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-girl-of-the-green-valley\/\"><em>The Girl of the Green Valley<\/em><\/a> and the brand-new <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/poison-ivy\/\"><em>Poison Ivy<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eccho Rights is also arriving in Cannes with a buzzy new Turkish drama, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/golden-boy\/\"><em>Golden Boy<\/em><\/a>, \u201cthe latest production from OGM Pictures, whose series such as <em>Chrysalis <\/em>and <em>My Home My Destiny<\/em> have been among the most popular in Turkey and around the world for the past three years,\u201d says Handan \u00d6zkubat, director of Turkish drama. \u201cThis amazing family drama deals with themes of betrayal, unreciprocated love and revenge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The slate from MISTCO, meanwhile, includes a ratings-winning medical drama, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-town-doctor\/\"><em>The Town Doctor<\/em><\/a>, which features a \u201cgreat cast,\u201d according to Aysegul Tuzun, managing director. Tuzun will also be introducing MISTCO\u2019s clients to <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/the-blackboard\/\"><em>The Blackboard<\/em><\/a>, \u201ca revenge story with a great cast combination of Irmak (Miray Daner) and Atlas (Furkan And\u0131\u00e7),\u201d she says. \u201cWith a triangle love story, the series offers a traditional Turkish drama pilot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While long known for its enviable stable of English-language drama series, All3Media International has been diversifying its slate, with its International Drama Screenings Festival highlights including two European thrillers. <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/black-sands-2\/\"><em>Black Sands<\/em><\/a> is an Icelandic crime drama from producer Glassriver and director Baldvin Z. The Swedish thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/blinded-2\/\"><em>Blinded<\/em><\/a>is back for a second season, which, per Stephen Driscoll, executive VP of EMEA, \u201coffers a masterclass in compelling, intelligent storytelling, combined with stellar performances, stunning production value and a taut, timely script.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LEONINE Studios will be touting <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/bonn\/\"><em>Bonn<\/em><\/a>, from the makers of <em>Spy City<\/em>. \u201cBased on true events, <em>Bonn<\/em> is an ambitious and thrilling historical drama that captures the essence of the social and the political winds of change that swept through Germany after WWII,\u201d says Patrick Phelan, director of world sales. Also on offer from the company is <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/herzogpark\/\"><em>Herzogpark<\/em><\/a>, \u201ca mix of social comedy, thriller and drama,\u201d Phelan says. \u201cThe tone is sardonic, acerbic and full of self-irony, yet also loving and empathetic because behind the fancy veneer is something all too human and universal: vulnerability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ZDF Studios has a slew of suspenseful stories from Europe to showcase this MIPCOM, including <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/dear-vivi\/\"><em>Dear Vivi<\/em><\/a>, written and produced by Natalie Scharf. \u201c<em>Dear Vivi<\/em> is an emotional family drama and thriller combo that uncovers the mystery behind the shocking murder of a wife and mother in seven suspenseful episodes,\u201d says Sebastian Krekeler, Director Drama. Krekeler also highlights the female-driven family drama <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/high-spirits\/\"><em>High Spirits<\/em><\/a>, from award-winning director Sabine Derflinger.<\/p>\n<p>ZDF Studios has also been growing its English-language lineup, such as the brand <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/clean-sweep\/\"><em>Clean Sweep<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> \u201cIrish content has significantly gained in importance in the international market, so we are proud to partner in this production, a thriller full of twists and turns that will captivate audiences worldwide,\u201d says Yi Qiao, Director Drama, who also spotlights season two of <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/top-dog\/\"><em>Top Dog<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eccho Rights has also been expanding its English-language lineup, arriving at MIPCOM with <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/desperate-measures\/\"><em>Desperate Measures<\/em><\/a>, which Lucy Roberts, director of sales for Western Europe, bills as a \u201cgripping thriller\u201d with a cast that includes Amanda Abbington as a diligent bank clerk who is forced to pull off a heist to save her son.<\/p>\n<p>Israel remains a thriving market for high-end scripted, and Dori Media\u2019s big new launch for this market is <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreenevents.com\/festivals\/hammam\/\"><em>Hammam<\/em><\/a>, a modern adaptation of the Biblical tale of Saul and David.
