Kingfisher Films and Blinder Films, in association with Southern Light Films, are working on the six-part mystery series The Gone<\/em> for RT\u00c9 and TVNZ.<\/p>\n

Ireland\u2019s Richard Flood and New Zealand\u2019s Acushla-Tara Kupe will lead the cast. Flood (Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em>, Crossing Lines<\/em>, Killing Kennedy<\/em>) stars as Theo Richter, an Irish detective who teams with Kiwi cop Diana Huia, played by Kupe (Ng\u0101ti Maniapoto<\/em>, Ng\u0101ti Unu<\/em>, Ng\u0101ti Kahu-pungapunga<\/em>), to find a young Irish couple who have vanished from an infamous rural North Island New Zealand town.<\/p>\n

The six-part New Zealand\/Ireland co-production commenced principal photography on location in Auckland and Te Aroha, New Zealand this week with further shooting in Dublin, Ireland in late 2022.<\/p>\n

It is being made with support from Te Puna Kairangi, the New Zealand Government\u2019s Premium Productions for International Audiences Fund and New Zealand\u2019s Screen Production Grant, Screen Ireland\/F\u00eds \u00c9ireann, RT\u00c9, TVNZ, NZ On Air and the BAI Sound & Vision Fund.<\/p>\n

Global distribution is being handled by Red Arrow Studios International.<\/p>\n

Executive Producer Karl Zohrab said: \u201cWhat an adventure it’s been so far, working across Aotearoa New Zealand and Ireland with our colleagues at Blinder Films on the development of this gripping mystery. Producer Reikura Kahi said: \u201cThe Gone<\/em> series transports us to a picturesque small town with characters and storylines that reflect how culturally unique Aotearoa is. Te reo M\u0101ori is weaved organically through the series, reflective of a nation that is on a journey toward embracing the M\u0101ori language.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dermot Horan, director of acquisitions and co-productions at RT\u00c9, said: \u201cRT\u00c9 is really excited to be working once again with Blinder, together with Kingfisher and Southern Light, on The Gone<\/em>. It promises to be a cracking drama and one which will hopefully have viewers glued to their seats both in Ireland and New Zealand.
