Jeff Garzik, who worked on the first blockchain node, the Bitcoin Core project, has launched NextCypher Productions.<\/p>\n
NextCypher is focused on using the emerging technology of Web3 to empower communities in sci-fi to make fantasy into reality. The first television project is the one-hour action-drama series Deathlands<\/em>, based on the best-selling book series.<\/p>\n Deathlands<\/em> was developed for television by showrunner\/executive producer Mark A. Altman (Pandora<\/em>, The Librarians<\/em>, Agent X<\/em>) and executive producer Thomas P. Vitale (57 Seconds<\/em>, Slasher<\/em>, Pandora<\/em>). Production is set to begin in early 2023 in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n \u201cDeathlands<\/em> is Mad Max: Fury Road<\/em>-meets-Yellowjackets<\/em> in an epic postapocalyptic sci-fi adventure,\u201d Garzik said. \u201cDeathlands<\/em> tells the story of a world ravaged by violence, destruction and death. Now, only the most smart, cunning and capable survive as they attempt to navigate the new normal of a world turned upside in the hopes of building a new, more just society for the future.”<\/p>\n Also in the pipeline is a NextCypher original, Looking Glass<\/em>, based on an original concept from Garzik.
