Academy Award nominee Ildik\u00f3 Enyedi is working on a pilot for a drama series centered on human trafficking that is being produced by Paprika Studios for a debut on RTL Klub Hungary.<\/p>\n
The series, Angel\u2019s Trumpets<\/em>, is based on a story that won last year\u2019s Hypewriter award. It takes place in rural and deprived B\u00e9k\u00e9s County, in the southeast corner of Hungary.<\/p>\n Scriptwriter Katalin Besenyei said: \u201cOur two main characters, Anna and J\u00e1zmin, were victims of human trafficking, and they\u2019re living in a safe house at the beginning of the story. When they find out that J\u00e1zmin\u2019s 15-year-old sister, Bella, might have been taken abroad as well, they escape and travel to the ranch where J\u00e1zmin was born in hopes of finding out something about Bella\u2019s whereabouts from her dad. This is when the whole trouble begins.\u201d<\/p>\n Enyedi, director, added: \u201cKatalin Besenyei talks about a very serious topic, human trafficking, with a lot of love. She brings the victims closer to us without victimizing them, all while maintaining a sense of humor, with lots of twists and, most importantly, deep psychological truths.
