{"id":17191,"date":"2022-07-13T09:27:05","date_gmt":"2022-07-13T13:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/dancing-ledge-preps-platform-7-itv\/"},"modified":"2022-07-13T11:39:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-13T15:39:00","slug":"dancing-ledge-preps-platform-7-for-itv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/dancing-ledge-preps-platform-7-for-itv\/","title":{"rendered":"Dancing Ledge Preps Platform 7 for ITV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ITV has commissioned the four-part psychological thriller <em>Platform 7<\/em> from Dancing Ledge Productions (<em>The Responder<\/em>, <em>The Salisbury Poisonings<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The series will be adapted by Paula Milne (<em>Him<\/em>, <em>The Politician\u2019s Husband<\/em>, <em>White Heat<\/em>) from the best-selling novel of the same title by Louise Doughty.\u00a0<em>Platform 7<\/em> will be an ITVX premiere, exclusive to the new free streaming service months ahead of the linear broadcast on the ITV main channel.<\/p>\n<p>The thriller follows the central character Lisa, who, after witnessing a cataclysmic event on platform 7 of a railway station, finds her own fragmented memory jogged to reveal a connection between her own life and that of the event she has just witnessed. It combines supernatural elements with contemporary realism.<\/p>\n<p>Fremantle will handle the international distribution of the drama.<\/p>\n<p>Polly Hill, ITV&#8217;s head of drama, said: \u201cI&#8217;m thrilled to be working with Dancing Ledge Productions on the haunting thriller <em>Platform 7<\/em>, an adaptation of Louise Doughty\u2019s brilliant novel. It&#8217;s edgy, fresh and engaging and is unlike anything we&#8217;ve commissioned before, as ITVX gives us the scope to break new ground with drama. Paula Milne&#8217;s scripts perfectly capture the novel&#8217;s vibrant storytelling whilst addressing some important contemporary issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Milne said:\u00a0\u201cThis is no traditional \u2018spooky\u2019 ghost story. \u00a0It\u2019s the tale of a ghost on a quest to discover who she was and the events that led to her untimely death. \u00a0Her story is a celebration of indignation versus passivity and truth versus lies. \u00a0While writing it from Louise Doughty\u2019s astute and emotionally intelligent novel, I began to feel she\u2019s the ghost in all of us; the unseen part of us when we find ourselves reflecting on the wisdom of our past decisions.
