The upcoming season will reveal how the Commissioner will deal with the bombshell that landed in the season 11 finale.<\/p>\n<p>The special is currently being filmed on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Once completed, filming will continue into season 12.<\/p>\n<p>The feature-length Christmas special is executive produced by Tim Key and Ceri Meyrick for Red Planet Pictures and Tommy Bulfin for BBC. It is written by James Hall, directed by Ruth Carney and produced by Candida Julian-Jones.<\/p>\n<p>BBC Studios distributes the series internationally. It is already licensed to over 230 territories across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Key said, \u201cWe had been wanting to do a <em>Death in Paradise<\/em> Christmas special for years, and so to be starting production on our second one this year is brilliant.
