The adaptation will star William McKenna (<em>Nowhere Boys<\/em>), Maggie Dence (<em>Rake<\/em>, <em>Wonderland<\/em>), Alexandra Jensen (<em>Frayed<\/em>, <em>Amazing Grace<\/em>), Chris Alosio (<em>Troppo<\/em>) and Kartanya Maynard (<em>Deadloch<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The production reunites the creative team behind <em>Lambs of God<\/em>, with the writing team led by Sarah Lambert (<em>Lambs of God<\/em>, <em>The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart<\/em>) and producers Jason Stephens (<em>Lambs of God<\/em>, <em>Upright<\/em>) from Lingo Pictures and Elisa Argenzio (<em>Fires<\/em>, <em>New Gold Mountain<\/em>, <em>Lambs of God<\/em>). Executive producers are Helen Bowden, Zusak, Mika Zusak, Lambert and Daniel Nettheim, along with Sally Riley and Rebecca Anderson from ABC.<\/p>\n<p>Lambert is joined on the writing team by Kirsty Fisher (<em>The Family Law<\/em>, <em>The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart<\/em>, <em>Laid<\/em>), Kim Wilson (<em>Total Control<\/em>, <em>Wentworth<\/em>) and Magda Wozniak (<em>Bad Behaviour<\/em>, <em>Mustangs FC<\/em>). Daniel Nettheim (<em>The Tourist<\/em>, <em>Line of Duty<\/em>, <em>Doctor Who<\/em>) is setup director, and Helena Brooks (<em>Wellmania<\/em>, <em>800 Words<\/em>) and Jennifer Leacey (<em>The Secrets She Keeps<\/em>, <em>Frayed<\/em>) are also on board to direct.<\/p>\n<p>Production on <em>The Messenger<\/em> is set to begin next month in Sydney. The series is slated to air on ABC TV and ABC view in 2023.
