{"id":16612,"date":"2022-04-05T02:30:23","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T06:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2022-04-05T10:23:57","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T14:23:57","slug":"bad-wolf-preps-the-winter-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/bad-wolf-preps-the-winter-king\/","title":{"rendered":"Bad Wolf Preps The Winter King"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bad Wolf, which was acquired by Sony Pictures Television at the end of last year, is set to produce the historical drama <em>The Winter King<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Bernard Cornwell\u2019s <em>Warlord Chronicles<\/em>, the ten-part epic will portray a revisionist take on the Arthurian legends, following Arthur Pendragon as he evolves from an outcast son to a warrior and leader in the 5th century. <em>The Winter King<\/em> will shoot in Wales and the West Country in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Kate Brooke (<em>A Discovery of Witches<\/em>, <em>Bancroft<\/em>) and Ed Whitmore (<em>Manhunt<\/em>, <em>Rillington Place<\/em>) are adapting <em>Warlord Chronicles<\/em> for the series, with Otto Bathurst (<em>His Dark Materials<\/em>, <em>Halo<\/em>) serving as the lead director.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Winter King<\/em> is being produced by Bad Wolf, in association with One Big Picture.
