She soon takes on the role of stepmom to her boyfriend\u2019s two kids, including Anthony\u2014a loveable 9-year-old who happens to be physically disabled, intellectually challenged, autistic, non-verbal and a high-functioning epileptic.<\/p>\n<p>The comedy-drama is written by Rouleau and scripted by Beno\u00eet Pelletier. The original Qu\u00e9bec version of <em>About Anthony<\/em> will be directed by Podz (<em>Lupin<\/em>, <em>Vikings<\/em>, <em>Cardinal<\/em>, <em>Mafia inc.<\/em>, <em>Minuit le soir<\/em>, <em>19-2<\/em>, <em>Three Pines<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The development of the project <em>About Anthony<\/em> was made possible due to Quebecor Content, the Canada Media Fund (CMF), the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de d\u00e9veloppement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) and AMI-t\u00e9l\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Rouleau commented, \u201cLiving with someone with a disability means having to deal with a thousand challenges and setbacks while constantly hoping for the best. But it also means laughing till it hurts at the smallest victory. It means discovering what unconditional love truly is. And it means collecting countless memories and stories every day. Anthony has changed my life\u2014and I want for him to change the lives of everyone in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Isabelle Degeorges, president of Gaumont Television France, said, \u00a0\u201c<em>About Anthony<\/em> is so successful in treating disability as more than an issue but a part of life itself. This series is a must-watch. It\u2019s compassionate, funny and a welcome break from the doom and gloom of the past couple of years.
