{"id":16493,"date":"2022-03-17T11:27:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-17T15:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/channel-4-picks-cane-field-killings\/"},"modified":"2022-03-17T11:27:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T15:27:00","slug":"channel-4-picks-up-the-cane-field-killings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/channel-4-picks-up-the-cane-field-killings\/","title":{"rendered":"Channel 4 Picks Up The Cane Field Killings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Channel 4 has acquired the South African crime drama <em>The Cane Field Killings<\/em>, also known as\u00a0<em>Reyka<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Starring Kim Engelbrecht (<em>Bullet Proof<\/em>, <em>The Flash<\/em>, <em>Eye in the Sky<\/em>) and Iain Glen (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, <em>Downton Abbey<\/em>), the series centers on a criminal profiler who is struggling to come to terms with her dark past, as the farmer who kidnapped her as a child still exerts a powerful hold on her 20 years later.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Cane Field Killings<\/em>, a co-production between M-Net and Fremantle, was produced by Serena Cullen (<em>Four Lives<\/em>) for Serena Cullen Productions and Harriet Gavshon for Quizzical Pictures. It is set to launch on Channel 4 on April 10, after which all episodes will be available on All 4.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Lee, Channel 4\u2019s head of acquisitions, said, \u201c<em>The Cane Field Killings<\/em> is a striking crime drama with a compelling lead character and a deep sense of place.
