The German original Almost Fly<\/em> is slated to debut on Warner TV Serie on May 2, followed by a global premiere on HBO Max.<\/p>\n

The six-part series traces the beginnings of German-language hip-hop in the \u201990s by centering on three 17-year-old nerds in West Germany who discover the genre when Black GIs from a nearby U.S. base drive past with music booming from their speakers.<\/p>\n

Produced by Warner TV Serie with W&B Television, Almost Fly<\/em> is written and directed by creator Florian Gaag. The hip-hop tracks composed specially for the series were written by Dexter, Maniac, JJ Whitefield, Roger Rekless, Fatoni, Kelvyn Colt and Peter Manns. Executive producers are Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann and Maximilian Vetter, as well as Warner TV Serie\u2019s Hannes Heyelmann and Anke Greifeneder.<\/p>\n

Samuel Benito, Andrew Porfitz and Simon Fabian star in the lead roles.<\/p>\n

The series will debut on Warner TV Serie in Germany on May 2 and will become available to stream on HBO Max in 61 territories across the U.S., Latin America and Europe.<\/p>\n
