{"id":16330,"date":"2022-02-15T09:00:51","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T14:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2022-02-15T09:15:03","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T14:15:03","slug":"hbo-renews-the-gilded-age","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/hbo-renews-the-gilded-age\/","title":{"rendered":"HBO Renews The Gilded Age"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HBO has renewed its original drama series <em>The Gilded Age<\/em>, which debuted in January, for a second season.<\/p>\n<p>From creator Julian Fellowes (<em>Downton Abbey<\/em>), the 19th-century drama sees young Marian Brook move from rural Pennsylvania to New York City to live with her old money aunts, who are enmeshed in a social war with their newly rich neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>Louisa Jacobson, Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Den\u00e9e Benton, Morgan Spector and Carrie Coon star in the leading roles.<\/p>\n<p>The series is co-produced by HBO and Universal Television and directed by Michael Engler and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. The first season&#8217;s finale will air on March 21.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJulian Fellowes and the entire <em>Gilded Age<\/em> family have thoroughly captivated us with their tale of late-19th-century New York City extravagance,\u201d said Francesca Orsi, executive VP of HBO Programming. \u201cAlong with our partners at Universal Television, we couldn&#8217;t be prouder to embark on a season two journey with this extraordinarily talented team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, added, \u201cThe first season of <em>The Gilded Age <\/em>is the beginning of an epic story that introduced a fascinating world full of intriguing characters.
