The series has recently been greenlit for a second season, which will also be distributed by Cineflix Rights.<\/p>\n<p><em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em> is produced by Buccaneer Media for AMC Networks\u2019 Acorn TV in the U.S. and U.K. Set in the English seaside town of Whitstable, it follows Pearl Nolan (<em>Kerry Godliman<\/em>, <em>Derek<\/em>, <em>After Life<\/em>), who divides her time between her seafood restaurant and solving local crimes. Alongside Pearl is DI Mike McGuire (<em>Howard Charles<\/em>,<em> The Musketeers<\/em>) as her on-off rival and love interest. Created and written by Norwegian filmmaker \u00d8ystein Karlsen (<em>Exit<\/em>, <em>Dag<\/em>, <em>Lilyhammer<\/em>), the series is based on novels by Julie Wassmer.<\/p>\n<p>James Durie, head of scripted at Cineflix Rights, said: \u201c<em>Whitstable Pearl<\/em> has been a great success in the U.S. and U.K., and we\u2019re delighted to be acquiring the second season for worldwide distribution.
