{"id":15863,"date":"2021-11-08T10:12:55","date_gmt":"2021-11-08T15:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/hannah-waddingham-joins-masterpiece-itvs-tom-jones\/"},"modified":"2021-11-08T12:23:42","modified_gmt":"2021-11-08T17:23:42","slug":"hannah-waddingham-joins-masterpiece-itvs-tom-jones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/hannah-waddingham-joins-masterpiece-itvs-tom-jones\/","title":{"rendered":"Hannah Waddingham Joins Masterpiece &amp; ITV\u2019s Tom Jones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Masterpiece and ITV literary adaptation <em>Tom Jones<\/em> has added to its cast the Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham (<em>Ted Lasso<\/em>, <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Waddingham has been cast as the seductive and vengeful Lady Bellaston in <em>Tom Jones.\u00a0<\/em>Solly McLeod (<em>The Rising<\/em>) is playing Tom, alongside Sophie Wilde (<em>You Don\u2019t Know Me<\/em>) as Sophia Western and Pearl Mackie (<em>Doctor Who<\/em>) as Sophia\u2019s trusted maid, Honour.<\/p>\n<p>Written by Gwyneth Hughes and produced by Mammoth Screen, the miniseries is an adaptation of <em>The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling<\/em>, based on Henry Fielding\u2019s classic novel.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the cast are James Fleet (<em>Bridgerton<\/em>), Alun Armstrong (<em>Breeders<\/em>), Shirley Henderson (<em>Happy Valley<\/em>), Tamzin Merchant (<em>Carnival Row<\/em>), Julian Rhind-Tutt (<em>Britannia<\/em>), Susannah Fielding (<em>This Time with Alan Partridge<\/em>), Daniel Rigby (<em>Black Mirror<\/em>), James Wilbraham (<em>In My Skin<\/em>), Felicity Montagu (<em>The Durrells<\/em>), Janine Duvitski (<em>Benidorm<\/em>), Dean Lennox Kelly (Jamestown) and Lucy Fallon (<em>Coronation Street<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Tom Jones<\/em> is a co-production of Mammoth Screen and Masterpiece in association with ITV Studios.
